Rajeev Kumar is an Indian Statistical Service officer of 2006 batch. He is presently posted as Director in the National Accounts Division of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. He has working experience of about 15 years in the area of official statistics. He has served in the Office of Registrar General of India & Census Commissioner and Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics, Ministry of Commerce.

He has worked extensively in the collection and dissemination of official demographic data. He has been deeply involved in the Annual Health Survey (AHS) which is the pioneer exercise in bringing out estimates of vital rates at district level. He has also been instrumental in the base year survey of 2014 of Sample Registration System (SRS) apart from its regular half yearly surveys. He has also worked on the cause of death statistics mainly based on verbal autopsy.

While working in National Accounts Division, he is has been handling the compilation of estimates of Investment and Construction sector. He is presently working on preparation Supply-Use Table (SUT).
