NehaKalraAsnani is a Gold medallist in M.Sc. (Statistics) from MohanlalSukhadia University, Udaipur. She joined Government of India in the year 2010 through All India UPSC competition with 2nd rank in “Indian Statistical Service (ISS)”.
Immediately after completion of two year mandatory probationary training of ISS, she was posted in National Accounts Division of Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. Her responsibilities included preparing macroeconomic aggregates like Government Final Consumption Expenditure (GFCE), Gross Value Added (GVA) of General Government sector, Departmental Enterprises and Non-Financial Corporations.
She was actively involved in the base year revision exercise of National Accounts in 2011-12 series. She also has experience of handling large databases like MCA-21 with more than 7 lakh companies, local bodies accounts etc.
She has participated in various national and international training programmes conducted by reputed organizations such as IMF, UN SIAP, IIT, IIM etc. on subjects like Government Finance Statistics, System of National Accounts, Monetary and Fiscal Policy,econometric analysis using E-Views, SPSS, STATA, R etc., Machine Learning using Python.
Presently, she is working as Deputy Secretary in Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance. Her responsibilities inter-alia includes periodic monitoring of indirect tax revenue collection of Union Government, formulation of budget estimates of the custom and GST revenue etc.
