Experience   : worked in the Department of Statistics ( presently called Department of  Statistics and Information Management) of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) since 1962 in various capacities and retired as Adviser in 1999. During this period, I was on duty with Unit Trust of India for about three years. Main areas of work: Flow of Funds accounts (System of National Accounts), Sample surveys, Banking and Corporate sector Statistics and studies in these areas. Participated in conferences of the Indian Econometric Society, and Indian Association for Research in  National Income and Wealth (IARNIW). Published over 50 papers  in RBI Occasional Papers, Economic and Political Weekly and Journal of Income and Wealth. Worked as Editor of the Journal of Income and Wealth  and as  member of the editorial committee for nearly three decades. Presently member of Executive Committee of IARNIW.

Representation in committees: (1) Working groups of the NSSO while in RBI (2)Member of the sub group on unorganised Financial sector set up by the National Statistical Commission (NSC))2001) (2) Member of the Committee on Financial Sector Statistics set up by the  NSC (2017)
