Dr. R. B. Barman is former Chairman of National Statistical Commission, India, and Former Executive Director of RBI. Dr Barman is Executive Vice Chairman of The Indian Econometric Society, former Vice Chairman of Irving Fisher Committee on Central Bank Statistics, BIS. Dr Barman received prestigious National Award in Official Statistics, 2021.

Dr Barman’s main interest in research includes Micro-Macro linkage as framework of analysis in the changing horizon of framework of economic analysis. His other interests include payment systems and information technology.
