Dr Kanhaiya Singh is an engineer turned Economist. He is a passionate researcher and policy analyst focused on data analytics, evidence based economics and pragmatic visualization of issues.
Dr Singh has worked as Senior Fellow (now Professor) at the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) and Deputy Director in Government of India (GOI) following a fairly long stint in industry. Currently he is promoting Centre for Global Development Research (CGDR), as its Director Research.
Dr Singh is a team leader and he has produced 20+ reports covering, Economic Impact Assessments for Defence Research (DRDO), Airport infrastructure, Investments in Railways, Deforestation; Report on Unaccounted Income and Wealth (Black Money Report); States Development Reports; Industry Reports on Coal, Cement, and Telecommunication; Evaluation of Urban Infrastructure; and Models for Forecasting Demand and Growth.
He has published 70+ articles in International Journals, Working Paper Series, Books, and News Papers.
Dr Singh uses the knowledge of Applied Econometric; Macroeconomic Modelling; Forecasting Techniques; General Equilibrium Models; Input-Output Analysis; Social Accounting Matrix; Discrete Choice Models; DD & PSM Technique; SEM; PCA;Indexing;and Linear Programming.
He has served as member in several expert committees constituted by the organs of GOI. He has been amember of the International Policy Advisory Group formed by the ADB and the Earth Institute and presented several papers in its meetings held inUSA, France, China, South Korea, Singapore, and Philippines. He has collaborated research & consultancy with WHO; IMF; DFID- British High Commission; CIDA- Canada; DFAT- Australia; FASID- Tokyo.
