Mr. Amit Kamal is an Indian Statistical Service Officer, who is currently holding the position of Joint Director in Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI), Government of India.His role includes coordination with all the energy source line ministries/departments for data requirement for preparation of Energy Statisticsof India and Energy Balance, work relating to National Industrial, Product and Service Classifications.
His previous experiences include: Various positions in National Accounts Division of National Statistical Office (NSO), MOSPI, New Delhi, India, with experience of working in the various sectors of national Accounts for calculating the Gross Value Added (GVA), Capital Formation & Savings pertaining to National Accounting System for India;Producing Fishery Statistics of India and monitoring and managing GIS mapping of all water bodies for estimating inland fish production under database scheme “Strengthening of Database and Geographical Information System for the Fishery Sector” in the Department of Animal Husbandry and Fishery; Deputy Director in the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).He conducted All India Survey on Higher Education in India and monitored online survey on All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE).
For the last over 10 years, he held various positions in IARNIW Executive/Secretariat. He has been responsible for the administrative work of Indian Association of Research in National Income and Wealth (IARNIW) secretariat and played key role in the organisation of various annual conferences and Seminars over the years, for the IARNIW.
